So I have a math problem where I have to find the interquartile range, etc. I am using code to save myself the effort of putting the set of numbers from least to greatest. This is my code:
local newtable= {35,34,31,23,34,20,48,32,24,21,29,17}
local newtablesort= table.sort(newtable)
print(newtablesort)
The output prints nil. I don't get why, as I have seen other coding tutorials and they have done the exact same method and still got a proper sorted table. Why?

table.sort doesn't return a new table, it just alters the table you passed to it
